We got Minh Thang Media on board for the project and we did 2 full shoot days! We had multiple planning sessions and scout meets with the croc park team to make sure it was all smooth sailing on the shoot days.

LOTS of planning, gosh. Emily from Croc Park then helped us organise the talent for the day, and the actual day shoot went pretty smoothly!

  1. We started with a excelsheet of how we were going to use the media for - this was mainly for the videos, but we also needed a bunch of updated photos for different aspects of the website.

  2. Then we translated that into a document with options… along with minute details like where to stand and who needs to protect us from the snapping crocs.

  3. We then worked on a timetable for the shoots as we needed different families for different animal encounters.

  4. During the actual shoot we ticked off the check list, and we got everything that we needed.

That nifty oar and the keeper kept us alive while we shot INSIDE the enclosure… with two crocs.

First day we got most of the talent shoot done! Minh did all the video directing and I just shot around him.

Day 2 shoot - we did more talent shooting because the animals didn’t want to play nice on the first day.. then we walked around the whole of the zoo to get B-rolls and profile shots for all the of animals in the park.

After all that planning, shooting and editing, we finally got them onto the website! We love how it works on the website, read more about the website side of the project here
